FAQ
Do you offer in-person sessions?
At this time, United Minds is fully virtual. When we expand to an office space, we will update.
What can I expect in the first session?
In your first session, your therapist will mainly be gathering some background information about you and why you have chosen to come to therapy. They will also be looking to see what your goals are. The first session also holds as a great space to see if you and your therapist are a good match. If after that first session, or any session, you feel it wasn't a good match it is okay to let your therapist know, and we can provide referrals to therapists that we feel good be a good match.
How frequent are sessions?
Frequency of sessions are determined by you and your therapist. On average, sessions are once a week, and as progress is made, then you and your therapist may decide its best to still meet but less frequently. However, we understand life is life, and sometimes schedules can be hard. It is best to discuss with your therapist regarding your preferences and they will determine if they can accomadate it, and if not, we can offer referrals to a therapist that might suit your needs better.
What is a Good Faith Estimate?
By law, healthcare providers are required to give clients who either are opting out of using insurance or do not have insurance an estimate of expected charges for services received. If you choose to pay for therapy out of pocket, self-pay, you hold the right the receive a Good Faith Estimate that outlines the estimate cost of services before your first session. The estimate includes cost per session, and any other fees, that way you can make the best decision for you. You may request this at anytime. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 or more that what you estimate said, you have the right to dispute it. For questions, please reach out.
